Canon praised the association for its generosity in establishing the endowment in 1998 and continuing to contribute to it.
“The Tallahatchie Valley Electric Power Association Scholarship Endowment was valued at $61,193 at the end of 2015, which includes what has been contributed and the earnings from the endowment,” Canon said.
She stated that in addition to the contributions that are held in sacred trust, more than $23,000 has been awarded in scholarships to students whose families use Tallahatchie Valley EPA as their electricity provider. Thus, the true value is almost $85,000.
Brad Robison, CEO of TVEPA expressed his appreciation to the Board of Directors for approving the contributions over the years. “We at Tallahatchie Valley are pleased to help the TVEPA families and, because this is a permanent endowment, this support will continue for generations to come,” Robison said.
